Note: You can also write “regedit” in the Search box to open the Registry Editor on Windows. Then tap on the “Yes” button when prompted. 

  • You will see the list of the applications that are installed in the device in the Registry Editor window. 
  • Go to the address bar of the Regedit and write “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender”.
  • Thereafter, right-click on the Windows Defender application. Tap on the “New” option and choose the “DWORD(32-bit) Value” option from the next popup menu. 
  • Write “DisableAntiSpyware” when the DWORD file pop-ups on the screen. Hit the Enter button next.
  • Then double-click on the “DisableAntiSpyware” DWORD file. In the pop-up window, set the Value data to “1”. Tap on the “OK” button to save these changes.

After coming up to this stage, you need to immediately restart the device. After restarting the device, Windows Defender will be completely disabled from your Windows 10 system.
